Alex Gillis is a Canadian university instructor, investigative journalist and author of A Killing Art: The Untold History of Tae Kwon Do. He has trained in the art for 30 years in various styles (as well as in Karate and Tai Chi). He first heard the incredible stories of Tae Kwon Do from one of his instructors in the late 1990s. Alex Gillis’s teachers were some of the pioneers of the martial art, and he has had rare access to these men and their families and students.
